Walking into Jinhu County, Huai'an City, Jiangsu Province, in the production workshop of Jinshi Machinery Group, five-axis CNC machine tools are precisely carving core components of deep-sea drilling equipment, while robotic arms steadily send processed components to inspection stations... This is a vivid scene of the booming development of the local oil machinery industry.
On May 13, the Jinhu Oil Machinery Industry Investment Briefing, part of the series of activities of the 5th Huaihe River Chinese Business Conference, was held. Focusing on strengthening and complementing the industrial chain, Jinhu County, with the Huaihe River as a link, accurately connects universities, research institutes and enterprise merchants, building a platform for the high-quality development of the industry.
"In recent years, the vivid practice of Jinhu's development has made us more deeply aware that: the foundation of development is industry, and the confidence to strive for excellence lies in projects," said He Baoxiang, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Huai'an Municipal People's Congress and Secretary of Jinhu County Party Committee, in his speech. He expressed hope that entrepreneurs would further strengthen their confidence and determination in "Jinhu being the benchmark in oil machinery", join hands to tackle key technologies, and continuously create the best industrial ecology for the development of oil machinery.
It is understood that the oil machinery industry is one of the landmark industries in Jinhu County. The county has built a complete industrial chain from raw material forging and processing, precision manufacturing of components to product assembly and testing. It has gathered 50 enterprises above designated size including Jinshi Group and Cepai Group, among which 9 enterprises have an annual output value exceeding 100 million yuan. These enterprises drive the coordinated development of more than 100 supporting enterprises inside and outside the county, with over 6,000 related employees. In 2024, the total industrial output value of enterprises above designated size reached 4.62 billion yuan.
Not content with the existing industrial achievements, Jinhu's oil machinery enterprises have adhered to technological innovation and technology empowerment for years, promoting the industry towards more high-end and intelligent development. Among them, the world's first new-type "central hole" underwater Christmas tree independently developed by Jinshi Group has reached the international advanced level; Cepai Group has built a CNAS national accredited laboratory; the large-inclination mining full-face rock roadway rapid heading machine independently developed by Shendun Machinery is the world's first large-inclination mining shield equipment, with its product technology leading the world.
The vigorous development of the industry is inseparable from strong policy support. Jinhu County has listed the oil equipment industry as one of the key industrial chains for development, established an industrial chain Party committee to coordinate industrial development, and issued the Jinhu County Oil Equipment Industry High-Quality Development Action Plan (2025-2027), providing policy support in various aspects such as equipment renewal, talent introduction and project investment. At present, over 100 kinds of products in the county, including Christmas trees, plate valves, mud valves, ball valves, HH grade wellheads and packers, are sold well in more than 20 countries and regions, with export sales accounting for over 65%.
